Home Sweet Home- What happens now?

Well, that's it folks! I'm back from Alaska- for awhile now. I haven't updated this blog like I should have... oops! But I wanted to add an additional blog in summary about the trip to AK this summer and add a few supplementary photos of the experience.
Our season as driver guides got a whole lot busier around the middle of August, once a lot of the drivers from Utah headed back to school. The rest of us left in the house found ourselves with suddenly a lot more hours and a lot more rainy weather- if you can believe that! I started to realize as the season came to a close that I was losing my enthusiasm. Which I didn't like at all. I remembered from back at the beginning of the summer I was very excited about going on as many tours as possible, and exploring the island and taking it all in and learning about the amazing job of being a tour guide. But by the end of the summer it was obvious that everyone was getting tired. We had done at least one tour a day for three months now, working up to 14 hours a day and it was definitely draining. It was most definitely time for a break, to head back to school- finish my degree and then get ready for the next season. And I will most definietly be back. At least... somewhere. That's my next dillemma. I absolutely fell in love with Alaska this summer and don't want that experience to end, but I now have to comtemplate where exactly in AK I want to begin my next adventure. I LOVED Ketchikan, but like any place it does have its ups and downs and it might be nice to see another location. And of course, that's the great thing about being a tourism minor- I want to travel! So i might as well do that. So, to make a very long story short I'm currently thinking of taking the same job as a Driver Guide in Skagway, AK for the next season. And then after that??? Who knows?? Skagway offers different scenery, different wildlife, a new experience and the ability to drive across the Canadian border!
I want to thank you all for following my blog this summer and supporting me on my journey of exploring the world. I hope to keep in touch! Love, Daisy
