The Last Frontier

It is now week 6 of being in Alaska and my life is continuing to be amazing!!!! Today for example I went for a go-kart ride through the wilderness with one of my friends. And then we headed back into town and attended a free lumberjack show. All part of the amazing job perks of working in Alaska. In fact, this summer has been so amazing that I am almost 100% certain that I will be coming back next summer. However, my next dillemma is which location. I do like Ketchikan a lot, however I'd also like to see another city/location in Alaska. The only problem with this is that Ketchikan is one of the only places in Alaska that offers employee housing. And I am very grateful for my living situation this summer. I like living with 20 of the other drivers, cooking dinner, watching movies and interacting is great because a lot of us have become pretty close. Without that social aspect I don't think I'd have as great of a time. So I'm beginnning to research different locations and trying to tentatively plan my next summer adventure. Any suggestions from anyone who's been up to Alaska????

I have too much information to actually share with everyone, so I've decided to make a list of my summer adventures so far.

1. Hiking Deer Mountain, elevation 3,001 feet

2. Native cultures- the Tshishiams, Tligkits and Haidas

3. 13 feet of rain per year

4. Misty Fjords

5. Sistrines to collect the water

6. The bridge to nowhere
7. Ziplining- SO much fun!

8. Driving the snorkel bus- no power steering!

9. Dumb tourist questions- what's the elevation here? Umm, we're at sea level, so its 0

10. I've gotten used to getting up at 4:30am every morning for work

In summary, free adventures, good friends, fun job, extra tip money, beautiful scenery, good food!!!! :)
